Oktoberfest

The Annual German-Acadian Coast Historical and Genealogical Society Oktoberfest takes place on the 4th week of October each year in place of the monthly meeting.  The evening begins at 6 PM with a social hour where members and their guests can mingle with one another.  At 7 PM, the President will make a few opening comments and dinner is served.  At this time the featured Guest Speaker will make a presentation.

The 2012 Oktoberfest will be held at the New Bull's Corner in LaPlace on Tuesday, October 23, 2012.  Our guest speaker will be Marie Rundquist and her topic will be "Cajun By Any Other Name" -- a descendant's
family history highlights the close relationships and inter-marriages between German and Acadian families on the 18th Century German Coast of Louisiana.
